  5. Glass candle holder, with a white candle, white pointsettias that have glitter on them. It will match everything and looks beautiful when lit.

  8. Something simple is best really… like a single tall candle in a hurricane glass.. with ivy all around it. If you want stick to a holiday theme.. you could go with those really small trees.. and make ornimanets out of pics of you and your hubby… OR.. have a really beautifully wrapped gift in the center, and put a star on a random seat at each table – whoever is sitting there at the end gets the present.

  9. Here are a few suggestions:

candles with rock salt and very small glitter sprinkled around it, The rock salt looks like ice crystal.

A white flower arrangement with silver snow flakes placed throughout.

A large hurricane lamp with a cream colored candle inside and white feather boa type stuff around the bottom.

Large candles with small candles around it.

One of the prettiest things I have seen for a center piece was that each table had their own beautiful cake on a glass cake stand. It was really nice because it was a large wedding and after the bride an groom cut their big cake then you were able to serve yourself you own cake.

  12. I don’t really have any links to send, but here’s DIY ideas if you get the creative notion……

Start saving empty boxes in a varity of sizes and shapes…and however "big" you’d want them to be.
    (I would go w/shoebox and smaller…..)
This can be adapted to whatever your theme/colors are:
Wrap each box as a gift in
*either all white, silver or gold, for a contemporary wedding
*traditional Christmas colors, for a traditional theme
*brown paper wrapping w/raffia, berries etc for a rustic theme
*or whatever christmas paper best compliments your wedding colors and wedding style
Stack them in random groupings of 2 or 3 in the center of each table.
If you check in your local dollar/discount stores, you can find the shorter strands of 10-15 bulb white lights that are battery operated. (They’re only $1 each mostly!) Loop a strand of lights around the base of your pkgs wrapped in some tuelle netting (about .77per yard or by the 6" spool)
I’ve seen this done and it is VERY elegant, different….and SO super easy and affordable!
    -OR-
Again, from the dollar store, look for – in a 6" to 8" size – the small wreaths, either in pine or grapevine. Loop some loose ribboning around it in whatever best suites your decor. Use them as candle rings around some piller candles, or you could even use the jarred scented candles.
    -OR-
Have small table-top pine/christmas trees in the center of each table. Use the battery operated lights mentioned above and then decorate each tree to go w/your wedding theme…you could even just use the little "bell" garland and place a dove atop each one, very wedding-y!
    -OR-
Just place some simple tree topper angels in the center of each table, bunch some tuelle netting around the base, again w/the battery operated lights-loop that throughout the netting. Scatter some glitter around the base as well. She’ll look like she’s on an illuminated cloud. Very simple!

These are just a few ideas off the top of my head.
Without really knowing what your colors and style/taste is, it’s hard to really know what would suit you.
Do you even WANT something lit? Do you WANT to use candles?
Perhaps if I had a few more details, I could offer something more…….
Hope perhaps I was able to give you "some" idea??

    CONGRATS ON YOUR WEDDING!
    ;-)

  13. Depends on how simple or extravagant you want to go. I think a beautiful yet understated centerpiece would be poinsettias. Whether silk or real, they are beautiful and would give great holiday flair as well.

  16. What about a square "mirror" that you place tea lights on? The little candles could be deep red and white. Then get some cedar boughs and layer those around the candles (you could even spray those with fake snow).

Or, cut out snowflakes and lay them down on the mirros and spray fake snow on that so you have an outline of a snowflake on there. The put the candle on it.

For a large centerpiece, I think someone mentioned earlier a birch tree with holes drilled in it for pillar candles. Attach some greens to that.

Best of luck, and congrats on your wedding.

  17. Simple cheap idea: buy gift boxes from a craft store (the kind that are flat and you have to fold into place) in 3 different sizes from small to large. Wrap each box in wine colored wrapping paper and then wrap ivory ribbon on sides going upward to tie into a bow on top. So your centerpieces will look like wrapped gifts. The boxes come in all sizes so they can be as big and small as you like.

OR, get simple bubble bowls and fill them halfway with wine colored sand, then lay an ivory flower on the sand. add greenery if you choose. then place this on top of a round mirror….the mirror makes it lok very elegant.

  18. you can use branches thats what I am doing. you get branches I am using curly willow but you can use whatever you like, then put them in a vase with gems in the bowl Then you can also paint the branches whatever color or leave them the natural color they are. then you can decorate the branches with crystal beads or put whatever in them they are really cute, but for some people hard to visualize. ask your florist, at first my florist had no idea what I was talking about then she put it together and it was beautiful. hope this helps you. good luck and congratulations.

I hope you can get the pic to come up its an arrangement that features a core of red-stick dogwood surrounded by a ring of jewel-toned amaryllis. You could either get the dog wood sticks in white/ ivory or you can leave them red and change the flowers to a white/ivory- just a thought

    Good Luck and Congrats!!

  21. An old fashioned lantern on a tall holder – something like you would see in pictures of old time carolers – with a simple ivory or wine colored candle. Place fresh pine around the bottom of the holder and tea lights in front of each place setting in iridescent glass votive holders.

**For some atmosphere see if your local high school or if you have a college nearby with a music dept. that would have a group of singers who would come perform in a strolling fashion throughout the guests as they mingle before dinner. Even better if they had the old time or Victorian costumes! You’d be surprised what type of talent you’ll get for a small donation!

  23. How about small christmas trees as centerpieces and decorated with wine christmas balls. Tablecloths could be wine or ivory and do napkins alternating color.

  24. Alright, i know u want a link but i couldnt find one either..but i am getting married in december and chose round mirrors with hurricane candle shades with pillar candles. I bought the shades from http://www.save-on-crafts.com and my idea is similar to the picture they show mid-way down the homepage. On the left.

Also add a lil snazz we are spinkling rose petals around the hurricane and having two small votives on either side.

    December weddings…candles= warmth & elegance

Other cool ideas are minture xmas trees with miniture ornaments. Or glass bowl with glass bulbs inside and a couple candles on either side. OR they sell "iced twigs" which fit nicely in a floral arrangement or by themselves in a vase. and then you could put ice crystals or snowflakes on the table around it.

  25. I’ve got a great idea! Your colors are wine and ivory? Get a bottle of wine and set it in a glass bowl of faux pearls, tie or hot glue a pretty ivory ribbon around the bowl. Think fishbowl-like (but prettier!), i’m sure if you check with a craft superstore you’ll find some nice bowls reasonably cheap, and after dinner is over, your tables can crack the wine. Maybe get some labels made with "Phil and Diane’s Wedding day, vintage 2007, may they age as well as this wine" or something to that effect.
